The Clinch, the Collective

Our project started in 2012. In Telesnack, a circus squat in Ghent, the desire for a place that we can expand together, in our own way, is growing. We find a place with great possibilities just across the border in Clinge, Zeeuws Vlaanderen, Netherlands. We position ourselves literally and figuratively on the border, because that is where the most interesting things often happen.

The Clinch is a place where crafters, artists and other freebooters can work in their own way and at their own rhythm. Where their most absurd ideas can mature and become reality. Where budgets do not detract from wild ideas. A sanctuary to be, do, make, dream, create, fantasize and celebrate without restrictions.
The Clinch is the result of a rock-solid belief that it is possible to dream and do together through respectful consultation and collective thinking, far away from individualism, indifference and the pursuit of profit.

Today, this commitment is reflected in a unique circus festival, well-equipped metal and wood workshops, a circus/training room and storage space. There is an outdoor kitchen with wood oven, a sauna and an oversized vegetable garden. It is the home base of De Vuurmeesters and circus company Cie Pol & Freddy and it is – in all modesty – a great place.
